Questions people ask

How much does it cost to replace kitchen cabinet doors in Australia?

A made-to-measure door costs from $149 in flat PET and $199 painted, for a standard 450 × 720mm base door, both on 18mm E0 MDF. Shaker and other routed profiles are painted. The price the calculator shows is the price you pay, including delivery in Melbourne, and you can order and pay online. Installed refacing by a kitchen company in Melbourne runs $2,000 to $6,000.

Can you replace just the doors on kitchen cabinets?

Yes. Doors and drawer fronts are separate parts screwed to the carcass with clip-on hinges, so any door can be replaced on its own. Measure the old door, order the same size with the same hinge positions, and swap the hinges across. This is the standard way to fix one damaged door or to reface a whole kitchen.

Is it cheaper to replace cabinet doors or paint them?

Painting is cheaper up front ($500 to $1,500 in materials for a DIY job) but does not fix lifted vinyl, chipped edges or swollen board, and brush-painted melamine chips easily. New doors come with new edges, new hinge holes and a factory finish. A professional 2-pac respray of old doors ($3,000 to $7,000) usually costs more than new painted doors and still leaves the old damage underneath.

How much does kitchen refacing cost in Melbourne?

Installed door-and-panel refacing in Melbourne is typically $2,000 to $6,000 according to 2026 cost guides. Supply-only doors from us are priced door by door from your sizes; use the whole-kitchen estimator for a figure in flat PET or painted shaker. Fitting is about a day for a handyman or carpenter.

What is the cheapest kitchen cabinet door finish?

From us, flat PET on 18mm E0 MDF, from $149 a door. Shaker and other routed profiles are painted, from $199. We don't currently make melamine or vinyl wrap (thermoformed) doors.
